so the .jar was downloaded again but still fails the md5 check. :(

Sadly in this case it doesn't because the helper does not redownload the same file even it its newer. The reason for this is the author of Hodoku does not provide a new filename (like for ex Hodoku_2.3.2.jar) Just make sure you delete Hodoku.jar (next to the PKGBUILD) and it will be redownloaded and you're good. I installed by paru nearly a year ago, never touched anything manually. I would assume the updater would take care of any older files, if there are? Should I maybe try reinstalling?

Can it be that you already had a Hodoku.jar and you didnt download it? It's a pity that no versioning is on the filename.

Basically it says the md5 of Hodoku.jar does not match. Is this something I need to fix locally or is this still the error which @tonya201 mentioned a week ago and I just have to wait?

The MD5 fingerprint of Hodoku.jar seems to be different from the one given in the PKGBUILD. It computes to f6ea6bd1fa98d90c9462a007ad4e84d4 Hodoku.jar
