So pacman 4 is out, DLAGENTS line is not needed anymore.

Update: solved the wget problem by telling makepkg to use curl. Next release of makepkg will use curl by default, I'll remove the DLAGENTS line then.

No that's fine you may keep maintaining it :)

Do you want to adopt this back?

gazj commented on 2011-09-19 15:33 (UTC)

Hmm, had a bit of a spate on gentoo, so didn't have arch around to make sure my packages were working. Kept hosting the binary for this tho. I should look up my other old packages and see if I can adopt them again. Maybe the dirty hack will be aswell as my website is not gauranteed up 24/7

gazj, great to see you around :) Why did you orphan the package, you still seem to care ;) anyway, I might do as you said, thanks for your offer, or just do a dirty hack and modify the PKGBUILD to download first with the wget spoofed user-agent trick.

Trouble is you don't want to host the binary just link to it. Your welcome to point it back to my server until you get things fixed with the developer. I did have a similar disussion with him once before. :) Hello Gary. Hmm, wget should work... but anyway, if it doesn't then you have permission to host it on your site too :) No problemo... So aur will use wget to get the binary of hoh from your site, unfortunately wget does not work with your site. Is it ok to host the files on my own site? Or is there a way I can make wget download them from your site? > >Many thanks > >Gary ----------- Tomaz Kac,

I got the permission from the author: ------------------------ from Tomaz Kac [tomcat #&@ sgn dot net] to SanskritFritz date Sun, Sep 18, 2011 at 12:09 PM subject RE: contacted by website Yes, you can have permission to store the binaries on the site. If download is free ofcourse. :) Best regards, Tomaz ------------------------ Regarding the donwload failing, wget is probably blocked via .htaccess, for when I spoof the user-agent, I can download the files without any problem: wget --referer="http://www.google.com" --user-agent="Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.6) Gecko/20070725 Firefox/2.0.0.6" http://retrospec.sgn.net/games/hoh/bin/hohlin-101.tar.bz2

ashren, yes, I'm aware of this. I already wrote an email to the site owner, but have not received an answer yet. However strictly I don't actually need an approval, because I don't receive any income by distributing the game. But I just saw now, that the download links dont work with wget :( Let's see what we can do about it, the previous packager solved it by putting the file onto his site.
