Thanks for this package rpn! This is an immensely valuable replacement.

You might want to switch this to the source this was based on (https://github.com/pritambaral/hostapd-rtl871xdrv) since that is updated for 2.5

@Niluge_KiWi Hi! Thanks for the patch, though I'd like to keep this as close to the [community] hostapd package as possible. Why don't you ask the [community] maintainer to merge your patch and then I'll do the same?

Hi, I updated the noscan patch from openwrt: https://github.com/Niluge-KiWi/aur-hostapd-rtl871xdrv/tree/hostapd-2.5-and-noscan-patch-updated Could you merge this? Tested with https://wikidevi.com/wiki/TP-LINK_TL-WN821N_v4 (Working config: driver=rtl871xdrv ieee80211n=1 ieee80211d=1 ieee80211h=1 wme_enabled=1 hw_mode=g country_code=FR ht_capab=[HT40+][SHORT-GI-20][SHORT-GI-40][MAX-AMSDU-7935] wme_enabled=1 and kernel driver https://github.com/pvaret/rtl8192cu-fixes)

@apnkp That's it. Thank you!

@bartki Add 'CONFIG_WPS=y' to the .config file before compiling.

Hi, if I add the option 'wps_state=0' (which is the documented default) explicitly, hostapd fails to start with the error message: unknown configuration item 'wps_state'. Could somebody verify this?!

@pierrec Many of the in kernel drivers for Realtek USB WiFi adapters are in the staging tree and hence buggy. Try installing the appropriate Realtek driver for your device: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/?O=0&K=Realtek BTW, I get the same error when using the in kernel driver.
