@saltedcoffii I have rebased this module against the latest kernel versions so that it's possible to use keyboard lighting together with new features (thermal profiles, tablet mode detection, etc) and several bug fixes.

You may want to change the upstream URL if that suits you. I'll keep updating it to the latest kernel until my Omen dies of old age: https://github.com/ranisalt/hp-omen-linux-module

I also made a simpler PKGBUILD that fixes what @hockeymikey reported: https://github.com/ranisalt/rsaur/blob/master/hp-omen-wmi-dkms/PKGBUILD

@saltedcoffi The module upstream works more than fine, this package is the issue. Its how it's getting installed doesn't retain itself between kernel upgrades.

This module hasn't been updated by the dev in 2 years, and it doesn't look like an update is coming. Improvements have been on the to-do list for years as well and haven't been attended. Since the module doesn't work anymore, I'm going to assume that it's broken. Should the dev update it, I'll recreate this package.

This package doesn't work really well. Doesn't stay installed between kernel upgrades. I have to manually uninstall every part of it then reinstall it. I really don't know what you're doing in the pkgbuild, seems atypical.
