@bittin, thank you for the prompts. When you're updating the PKGBUILD also remember to check the upstream changes for new files to install etc.

I was getting these errors: "TypeError: Couldn't find foreign struct converter for 'cairo.Surface'" "TypeError: Couldn't find foreign struct converter for 'cairo.Context'"
until I installed 'python-cairo'.

Please read the AUR wiki page before reporting issues.
If you are experiencing a build issue then ensure you are not using an AUR helper and are using a clean chroot.
