This needs git in makedepends and probably also gnome-session and i3 itself as depends, because it's useless without these

These issues should be fixed if you update for the latest version of Gnome 3.26

Multimedia keys are not working. They register properly in the Keyboard Hotkey dialog, but don't actually do anything. I logged into Gnome and verified they work fine there...

Same issue as sparky_005 - any solution?

sparky_005 commented on 2017-05-23 02:45 (UTC)

I found an xsession log! And it tells me this: /etc/lightdm/Xsession: line 76: exec: gnome-session --session=i3: not found Gdk-Message: light-locker: Fatal IO error 11 (Resource temporarily unavailable) on X server :0. Does anybody know what this means?

Started having a problem recently when i3-gnome is the active session where my clicks fail to go through to many apps. No idea whatsoever could cause this, but it's as of the last few days (mid-week of 2017-5-15). When I switch to straight-up i3, I have no issues.

I've been trying to get this to work for four hours with no luck :( every time I try I just get a brief black screen and then I'm sent back to the login window. I'm not even sure what log to check. Does anybody have any suggestions?

Thanks, techlive. I will get this fixed soon. I had someone run into an issue with using the gnome-tweak-tool after this change so making sure I can get that working before I bump it. Also, I want to make sure this is backward compatible, so I will need to add some version check logic.

Replace /usr/share/gnome-session/sessions/i3-gnome.session with following should work. # -*- mode: conf -*- [GNOME Session] Name=i3-gnome RequiredComponents=org.gnome.SettingsDaemon.A11yKeyboard;org.gnome.SettingsDaemon.A11ySettings;org.gnome.SettingsDaemon.Clipboard;org.gnome.SettingsDaemon.Color;org.gnome.SettingsDaemon.Datetime;org.gnome.SettingsDaemon.Housekeeping;org.gnome.SettingsDaemon.Keyboard;org.gnome.SettingsDaemon.MediaKeys;org.gnome.SettingsDaemon.Mouse;org.gnome.SettingsDaemon.Orientation;org.gnome.SettingsDaemon.Power;org.gnome.SettingsDaemon.PrintNotifications;org.gnome.SettingsDaemon.Rfkill;org.gnome.SettingsDaemon.ScreensaverProxy;org.gnome.SettingsDaemon.Sharing;org.gnome.SettingsDaemon.Smartcard;org.gnome.SettingsDaemon.Sound;org.gnome.SettingsDaemon.Wacom;org.gnome.SettingsDaemon.XRANDR;org.gnome.SettingsDaemon.XSettings;i3-gnome; See https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/53800

gnome-session 3.24.1-1 broke this repo - working on it.
