@jwm-art Thanks for reporting (here and on LAU). Fix applied with no release bump.

line 14 of PKGBUILD aborts due to brackets around "$pkgname.install".

Hi all,

after some time, (sorry I've been busy and nobody flagged out of date) I've updated IanniX to latest.

Hi iannix,

thanks for the note and for finally releasing IanniX!!

feel free to email me for any doubt about FLOSS (managing, licensing et al..).

ps: sorry everyone for the inconvenient of 0.8.3 numbering. I count to fix this package as soon as 0.8.3 is really released.

Hi !

We finally release our beta version of IanniX. Well, as you mentioned, we're not expert in FLOSS project because we're not software development killers :) Moreover, I release the Linux version, but I have absolutely no idea of "good rules" to package a project (well, I'm a Mac OS X interface designer, so Linux is pretty far from my daily job...)

> I don't really fancy this kind of obscure management but this is it for now.

Sorry, there were two constraints ; first, we have money from French Minister of Culture and we need to show them something that works. Then, IanniX is pretty difficult to understand for people, so we wanted something "ready to use".

So now, on our website http://www.iannix.org you can see releases & source code !

yes it says it fails for some wrong path, I know.

but the REAL problem is that there are NO source available (yet) after 0.8.01,
so there's no path to correct. 0.8.03 comes in binary form only (for now).

I cannot stress enough that this sucks big time, but it's not my fault.
It seems to me that they do NOT know what a FLOSS project is supposed to be.

fails because of some wrong path

Hi,

mmmm (secret) links on website is tar.gz but is a BINARY IanniX compiled dinamically but it's missing some libs.

sources are not available at the moment :(

man.... this way of managing is everything but FLOSS.

let's wait and see...

>>>>> temporary fix is to modify PKGBUILD back to 0.8.01 version of sources <<<<<

sorry for this.

Hi all,

download link appears to be online now.

I'll try it myself tonight when I'll be back from work, but please try installing PKGBUILD as is and let me know.

cheers.

Hi david,

I'm sure they'll open the sources "once ready" (even if I don't like this kind of "obscure" management).

I'm sorry for the latest PKGBUILD , I had a notification from IanniX that 0.8.03 was out, but sources aren't there.

I made a mistake in changing the PKGBUILD before trying it.... temporary fix is to modify PKGBUILD back to 0.8.01 version of sources.

Haha... they should put it up on github or something!
Btw. your latest PKGBUILD is not working. Gives me the following when trying to build with yaourt:
"cp: cannot create regular file `/tmp/yaourt-tmp-dave/aur-iannix/src/IanniX/': Not a directory"

PKGBUILD ready and working, IanniX not so really ready.

But mind that this is ALPHA software and that I got a "private" url to download something not released (not even as alpha).

I don't really fancy this kind of obscure management but this is it for now.

May be after they release a stable, people will be able to contribute as in the true spirit of FLOSS.

Enjoy

Ok, I've got an answer and a (seemingly) private url to download sources..

I'm making the PKGBUILD!!!

No answers yet, and no place where to et new code.

This is certainly no way to manage an Open Source project.

Let's wait and see...

I've just adopted this package and sent an email to devs and asked for a link where to get sources.

let's see.....
