Requiring optional dependencies to be installed at build time isn't a great solution for those who build their packages with an automated setup in clean chroots. I think a better solution would be to provide a totally separate package that does have a hard dependency on python2 and provides the playlist scripting engine.

You might want to check out my greatly improved ices0 v0.4.6 at https://github.com/Moonbase59/ices0. I wouldn’t know how but I think the AUR might be a great place for it. :-)
