Release notes version 1.11.2

`icinga` and `icinga2` are now optional dependencies.

I've managed to get this working with icinga2. I think icinga and icinga2 should probably be optional dependencies.

You can change the behavior of `make` on your system in /etc/makepkg.conf

DIDI2002 commented on 2014-06-16 18:54

make -j4 kills this pretty badly. Could you maybe add "-j1"?

For upgraders there appears to be an oddly named mysql upgrade /usr/share/icinga-web/etc/schema/updates/mysql/mysql_v1-10-0_to_1-10-1.sql which you can install with
$ mysql -u root -p icinga_web < /usr/share/icinga-web/etc/schema/updates/mysql/mysql_v1-10-0_to_1-10-1.sql

You might see
checking for phing... not found
configure: WARNING: binary phing not found in PATH
but it will install just fine without. So phing is not a dependency.
On a clean install you might see real errors just below the phing warning
checking if php has sockets module... configure: error: not found
checking if php has xsl module... configure: error: not found
which mean you need to uncomment and in /etc/php/php.ini

Missing dependency on phing

i noticed that /etc/icinga-web doesn't seem to be parsed. at the very least, /etc/icinga-web/databases.xml doesn't seem to be.

during installation i had set a more secure password for the icinga_web and icinga databases. however, when trying to log into the web interface i'd repeatedly get mysql connection errors ("Access Denied"). when i modified /usr/share/icinga-web/app/config/databases.xml with the same passwords, however (same exact file, actually), it worked.

Note for upgraders:
- You need to upgrade the databases, see [1]
- As per /usr/share/icinga-web/doc/CHANGELOG-1.9.0 you want to upgrade the apache.conf which resides in /etc/icinga-web. You could make a symbolic link:
# ln -s /etc/icinga-web/apache.example.conf /etc/httpd/conf/extra/httpd-icinga-web.conf
then include that in httpd.conf
- In my installation I got a 403 (Permission Denied) error frm this Apache configuration which I fixed by adding
Order Allow,Deny
Alow from all
in all folders. Yu can do better if you don't want the world to see the page.
- Read all related info. Major change: Revamped credential and permission system for the data [2]
