Release notes version 1.11.2

`icinga` and `icinga2` are now optional dependencies.

azeotrope commented on 2014-08-14 07:03

I've managed to get this working with icinga2. I think icinga and icinga2 should probably be optional dependencies.

@DIDI2002
You can change the behavior of `make` on your system in /etc/makepkg.conf

DIDI2002 commented on 2014-06-16 18:54

make -j4 kills this pretty badly. Could you maybe add "-j1"?

Updated

For upgraders there appears to be an oddly named mysql upgrade /usr/share/icinga-web/etc/schema/updates/mysql/mysql_v1-10-0_to_1-10-1.sql which you can install with
$ mysql -u root -p icinga_web < /usr/share/icinga-web/etc/schema/updates/mysql/mysql_v1-10-0_to_1-10-1.sql

@abique:
You might see
checking for phing... not found
configure: WARNING: binary phing not found in PATH
but it will install just fine without. So phing is not a dependency.
On a clean install you might see real errors just below the phing warning
checking if php has sockets module... configure: error: not found
checking if php has xsl module... configure: error: not found
which mean you need to uncomment sockets.so and xsl.so in /etc/php/php.ini

Missing dependency on phing

sanerb commented on 2013-09-06 09:11

i noticed that /etc/icinga-web doesn't seem to be parsed. at the very least, /etc/icinga-web/databases.xml doesn't seem to be.

during installation i had set a more secure password for the icinga_web and icinga databases. however, when trying to log into the web interface i'd repeatedly get mysql connection errors ("Access Denied"). when i modified /usr/share/icinga-web/app/config/databases.xml with the same passwords, however (same exact file, actually), it worked.

Afwas commented on 2013-07-11 19:34

Note for upgraders:
- You need to upgrade the databases, see [1]
- As per /usr/share/icinga-web/doc/CHANGELOG-1.9.0 you want to upgrade the apache.conf which resides in /etc/icinga-web. You could make a symbolic link:
# ln -s /etc/icinga-web/apache.example.conf /etc/httpd/conf/extra/httpd-icinga-web.conf
then include that in httpd.conf
- In my installation I got a 403 (Permission Denied) error frm this Apache configuration which I fixed by adding
Order Allow,Deny
Alow from all
in all folders. Yu can do better if you don't want the world to see the page.
- Read all related info. Major change: Revamped credential and permission system for the data [2]

Hi aetherith,

`phing` doesn't seem to be a dependency. It builds on `make`.
The post install messages[1] are unfortunate but come from the `icinga-web` installer, not from a PKGBUILD install file. If you want to install `icinga-web` I advise you to follow the Wiki[2] where you can also make changes if you want to help improve the install process.

A dependency on phing (another package in the AUR) needs to be added to the package build. That'll clear one of the errors people are running into. Also it seems many of the 'post installation' tasks need to be done before installation so the package build doesn't fail.

icinga-web 1.8.3 is a bugfix release in the 1.8 series. It is highly recommended for Arch users since it resolves a bug that occurs with current 5.4(.13) version of PHP together with icinga-web < 1.8.3.
Next scheduled release of icinga-web is 1.9 due 04/25/2013.

Flagged out of date by vwyodajl which is fine by me. However threre are no downloads for 1.8.3 available yet. It's flagged two days due.
In the meantime if you're having issues not showing the main panel please apply this patch: https://git.icinga.org/?p=icinga-web.git;a=blobdiff;f=app/modules/Cronks/views/System/ViewProc/MetaInformationSuccessView.class.php;h=ba4bbeb2fd1246fcf9c9956c9ddf75ba241b1efa;hp=c428ef3e693d2c2b9f23b2ae2809891c6f8f5176;hb=48a0fd4b1676c3fcf4f1b932c6ed93cd85c3e1c2;hpb=9cccc0432dfe28038730e2f408db91f94703f620
The file is in /usr/share/icinga-web/app/modules/Cronks/views/System/ViewProc
The issue occured after recent update of PHP. Will be fixed in upcoming icinga-web 1.8.3

Afwas commented on 2013-02-19 16:09

icinga-web 1.8.2 is a bugfix release over 1.8.1. See https://www.icinga.org/2013/02/12/icinga-web-1-8-2-bug-fix-release/ for more information.

@XiON
Focus at Access denied for user 'icinga_web'@'localhost' (using password: YES). Check if the user does have permission on the mysql database from localhost. You could check your users permissions through phpmyadmin.

@gm99: I got the same issue and tried to solve it by building phing (thought this is the missing dependency for icinga-web). But that failed too. I should take a look at the AUR phing package thread.

@asfer:
SOLVED!
That was the determinative hint. Thank you very much.
I also activated the xsl module in that way.

Many thanks also to GutenYe for his/her efforts!

@GutenYe
Hi GutenYe, it' me again. I tried your advicice an I found it all OK:

[gm@klapprechner ~]$ pacman -Qo /usr/lib/php/modules/sockets.so
/usr/lib/php/modules/sockets.so is owned by php 5.4.9-1
[gm@klapprechner ~]$ pacman -Qo /usr/include/php/ext/sockets/php_sockets.h
/usr/include/php/ext/sockets/php_sockets.h is owned by php 5.4.9-1

But I got no success. Here is my (partial) compile log:

==> Starting build()...
checking for a BSD-compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c
checking for grep that handles long lines and -e... /usr/bin/grep
checking for a sed that does not truncate output... /bin/sed

notice: icinga-web failed while building, remove source files (/root/AUR/icinga-web)? [Y/n] Y
warning: package icinga-web failed to build and won't be installed.

Sorry but I have no idea whats ´missing on my Arch installation

I am very grateful for your help.

$ pacman -Qo /usr/lib/php/modules/sockets.so

$ pacman -Qo /usr/include/php/ext/sockets/php_sockets.h
/usr/include/php/ext/sockets/php_sockets.h is owned by php 5.4.8-1

check these two files if exists?

I believe you need '/usr/include/php/ext/sockets/php_sockets.h' file to fix this issue.

Hi GutenYe,
I installed all the php packages you listed. But this resulted no change for me;
I still get the socket error:

checking if php has sockets module... configure: error: not found
==> ERROR: A failure occurred in build().
Aborting...
notice: icinga-web failed while building, remove source files (/root/AUR/icinga-web)? [Y/n] Y

Any idea about the reason?
Thank you!

GutenYe commented on 2012-11-14 06:10

@gm99

the problem is

checking if php has sockets module... configure: error: not found

# run at my platform and I can find php sockets module.

checking for a BSD-compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c
checking for grep that handles long lines and -e... /usr/bin/grep
checking for a sed that does not truncate output... /bin/sed
checking for php... /usr/bin/php
checking for phing... not found
configure: WARNING: binary phing not found in PATH
checking if php has sockets module... found
checking if php has xsl module... found
checking if php has xml module... found
checking if php has json module... found

but I don't which package provides php sockets module, below is my php packages, you can try to find out which is missing.

$ pacman -Qsq php-
php
php-apache
php-cgi
php-fpm
php-gd
php-geoip
php-ldap
php-mcrypt
php-pear
php-pecl-cairo-svn
php-sqlite
php-xsl
