Note: If imagescan returns an error saying that it cannot connect to the scanner, disable your firewall and try again, if it works, enable your firewall, turn on TCP/IP SYN cookies and try again to see if that solves the problem with your firewall. (Set /proc/sys/net/ipv4/tcp_syncookies to 1.)

For source file URL, try https://support.epson.net/linux/en/imagescanv3.php?version=1.3.38 for fedora 28 and 1.3.44 for fedora 29

The sources files doesn't exist anymore, I'm getting file not found error 404.

It seems that EPSON updated the bundle and renamed the source file to: imagescan-bundle-fedora-28-1.3.44.x64.rpm.tar.gz

Please, can you update the PKGBUILD? Thanks.

@iyanmv, when i first created this package, i also had a firewall problem, as you can see in the issue below. I actually solved it by changing my firewall program from ufw to firewalld as ufw was blocking the scanner's reply. About the ports, 1865 is the port used by the scanner, the networkscan plugin uses a dynamic high port to start the connection. So you shouldn't have to open any extra doors, at least if your firewall program isn't blocking the reply. https://github.com/utsushi/utsushi/issues/28

Hi @leosanvieira, do you know if it is necessary to open more ports apart from 1865/tcp? Imagescan works for me when I disable the firewall but stops working and it cannot find it whit it activated. Thanks!

I couldn't find a guide on how to configure this anywhere. It is not the same as the old ImageScan! epkowa plugin.

In order to connect to your scanner, you'll need to edit /etc/utsushi/utsushi.conf

Uncomment the example configuration, and put in your printer's information, ergo:

myscanner.udi = esci:networkscan://yourscannersip:1865

myscanner.vendor = Epson

myscanner.model = yourscannersmodel
