@YoshiRulz Done. Also added xsel. Thanks for the tip.

YoshiRulz commented on 2019-03-05 06:19 (UTC)

May I suggest you add xclip to optdepends?

andreyv commented on 2016-06-04 16:34 (UTC)

I was under impression that the script is not maintained or updated for years. It's good to have an official repository now.

commented on 2016-05-30 12:37 (UTC)

please either update this package for imgur api v3 or disown it so that some one else do this

bjn commented on 2016-05-21 00:10 (UTC)

I'm the upstream developer. Odd that you don't think to email the developer when you find that the tool isn't working, or when you write a patch to fix it. Anyway, someone pointed the issue out, and mentioned that it was fixed in this page, and I've made similar fixes upstream. There's now a formal code repository for the script at

I think would be nice use `xclip -selection clipboard` to send directly the urls to X clipboard. I'm now using that way with a custom action in thunar called `send to imgur`. Working fine here. Thanks for the script, really useful.

andreyv commented on 2016-04-08 16:37 (UTC)

I patched the script to use Imgur API version 3. Note that if too many images are uploaded per day (more than 1250), then the script will be temporarily blocked from Imgur for all users. More information:

@Rhinoceros Try imgurbash2:

NightSong commented on 2016-04-04 19:09 (UTC)

I've created an AUR package for imgurbash2:

semeion commented on 2016-04-04 19:08 (UTC)

@NightSong, Wow it is working! Thank you very much, you save my day!!!

NightSong commented on 2016-04-04 15:18 (UTC)

@semeion Try this:

semeion commented on 2016-04-04 10:25 (UTC)

@Toqoz: Yeah, could be nice if someone tell us a substitute. This script is really usefull.

Toqoz commented on 2016-04-04 10:07 (UTC)

Also looking for a substitute, no longer uploads.

semeion commented on 2016-04-01 16:08 (UTC)

@andreyv, Do you know some similar script to substitute imgurbash? I don´t think they will fix it :/

andreyv commented on 2016-04-01 12:38 (UTC) now returns an empty page.

semeion commented on 2016-04-01 02:06 (UTC)

Someone is heaving problems with this script? He stoped work to me. imgur changed the API or something like this?

andreyv commented on 2015-12-10 17:07 (UTC)

@Naypam: Thanks! Added.

Naypam commented on 2015-12-09 19:49 (UTC)

@andreyv I would be honoured!

andreyv commented on 2015-12-09 19:08 (UTC)

@Naypam: Very good idea. Do you mind if I add this to the package?

Naypam commented on 2015-12-09 18:04 (UTC)

Hey, I modified it a little to output HTTPS URLs Just for that little bit of security. :)

Rhinoceros commented on 2015-10-19 21:04 (UTC)

@andreyv Oh, thanks… it works fine now. I did try a few times previously, but they all failed. Oddly enough, imgur (a duplicate PKGBUILD?) and imgur-cli-svn both failed too, although imgur-screenshot-git worked.

andreyv commented on 2015-10-19 15:24 (UTC)

@Rhinoceros: Try again a few times, sometimes the upload fails. I just checked and the script works here.

Rhinoceros commented on 2015-10-19 09:50 (UTC)

Installs fine, but running this gives: Error message from imgur: Invalid API Key

Fixed the any issue, thanks for pointing out

andreyv commented on 2015-02-13 16:38 (UTC)

The checksum looks fine from here. Please retry your download.

orschiro commented on 2015-02-13 06:32 (UTC)

Can you please check the file integrity? :: failed to verify imgurbash integrity Thanks! Robert

michalrus commented on 2014-09-28 13:55 (UTC)

It's good to check your packages with `namcap`: imgur W: No ELF files and not an "any" package imgur W: Dependency bash included but already satisfied

michalrus commented on 2014-09-28 13:53 (UTC)

@skrat, `arch` should be `any`, as this is a shell script. :) arch=('any')

bePolite commented on 2014-05-02 11:38 (UTC)

The upload works fine for me but nothing gets copied into my clipboard even though I have xclip installed the problem can be solved by changing line 107 to || { type xclip >/dev/null 2>/dev/null && echo -n $clip | xclip -selection clipboard; } \

kremlin commented on 2014-02-23 01:05 (UTC)

awesome script! i use it with the two scripts below bound to printscrn and ctrl-printscrn respectively to automatically log/upload screenshots to imgur (selection with srot -s) #!/bin/bash scrot -mse 'mv $f /home/kremlin/screenshots/%F-%H-%M-%S.png'; imgurbash /home/kremlin/screenshots/$( ls /home/kremlin/screenshots | sed '/LOG/d' | sort -n -t _ -k 2 | tail -1 ) &>> /home/kremlin/screenshots/LOG; date >> /home/kremlin/screenshots/LOG; echo -e '\n' >> /home/kremlin/screenshots/LOG crot -s) (active window) #!/bin/bash import -window "$(xdotool getwindowfocus -f)" /home/kremlin/screenshots/$(date+"%F-%H-%M-%S").png; imgurbash/home/kremlin/screenshots/$( ls /home/kremlin/screenshots | sed '/LOG/d'| sort -n -t _ -k 2 | tail -1 ) &>> /home/kremlin/screenshots/LOG; date >> /home/kremlin/screenshots/LOG; echo -e '\n' >> /home/kremlin/screenshots/LOG

i ... don't remember making that comment, probably thought you were the author

commented on 2012-08-13 14:19 (UTC)

@erufu, thanks, the script got updated to version 4. @gtmanfred, shouldn't this request be rather considered by the script's author?

erufu commented on 2012-08-11 21:09 (UTC)

The sha1 is wrong. The good one : a7664f885e7feddab0f3a663d6ee12956367e988

gtmanfred commented on 2012-01-18 07:22 (UTC)

Would you please update this so that we can use Authorized keys too? I would really like to be able to push the pictures to my account for later as well Thanks
