Yes, got it! Sorry ;)

That is not the main program's executable.

You should execute /usr/bin/indicator-cpufreq to initiate the indicator.

indicator-cpufreq-selector fails with:

File "/usr/bin/indicator-cpufreq-selector", line 143, in <module>
name = dbus.service.BusName("com.ubuntu.IndicatorCpufreqSelector", bus)
File "/usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/dbus/", line 131, in __new__
retval = bus.request_name(name, name_flags)
File "/usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/dbus/", line 303, in request_name
'su', (name, flags))
File "/usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/dbus/", line 651, in call_blocking
message, timeout)
dbus.exceptions.DBusException: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.AccessDenied: Connection ":1.53" is not allowed to own the service "com.ubuntu.IndicatorCpufreqSelector" due to security policies in the configuration file

Wow.Your indicator-powersave compared to Ubuntu version and others is advanced.

All cpu{freq,power} dependent code and the package cpupower from depends() removed! The indicator now sends all requests to throttle and gets all the information it needs from sysfs.

It seems we can't use cpufreq.get_available_frequencies or cpufreq.get_available_governors like we used to.

Does anybody know why or what I could do (minimally) to get the output expects (from some other function now?)

Note: I am considering rewriting to directly access the sysfs like cpufreq-helper -

This warning was never a problem:
WARNING: the following files are not recognized by

It is caused by patch being paranoid:

This had absolutely no effect on the package, nonetheless, fixed by updating the patch.

The rules are not part of the pkgbuild, but I understand you are probably referring to the entire package as "PKGBUILD".... should I just get used to that?

I found the same problem with my last local copy (for pantheon-bzr-qq git), so it's probably my fault.

Updated with all the latest from the forum thread!
