@carbolymer unfortunately I don't know about other mirrors. For me the download from jetbrains is fast (50M/s) - it's on Cloudfront:

curl -vL 'https://download.jetbrains.com/idea/ideaIU-2018.1.5.tar.gz' >/dev/null
...
< X-Cache: Hit from cloudfront
...
100  637M  100  637M    0     0  48.2M      0  0:00:13  0:00:13 --:--:-- 51.6M

Wow, the download mirrors of Jetbrains are ridiculously slow. Almost an hour for downloading the IDEA. Got any faster mirors?

@Edholm you flagged the package out-of-date due to a checksum mismatch. I can't confirm that and have unflaged the package again.

curl -sL https://download.jetbrains.com/idea/ideaIU-2017.3.tar.gz | sha256sum -
f75db2b4014d115f185bf867a1e5a6b4dae289444bf74e46b58ad2844e07d325 -

I get redirected by the above URL to https://download-cf.jetbrains.com/idea/ideaIU-2017.3.tar.gz
What do you get?

@corvus_192 this one has JetBrains' custom JRE bundled with it, the other does not.

Why are there two packages for the ultimate edition? How is this package different from 'intellij-idea-ultimate-edition'? Are two packages really needed?

njam commented on 2017-06-19 16:50

@grubersjoe the script "/usr/local/bin/idea" is not managed by the package, but by IntelliJ itself. I assume you had it still installed from a previous package, that was installed in a different location.
You can re-create it from within IntelliJ: Tools > Create Command-line launcher...

grubersjoe commented on 2017-06-19 13:45

I had the following error:

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/local/bin/idea", line 106, in <module>
os.execv(RUN_PATH, [bin_file] + args)

In the script a wrong path is used. The correct one is the following:
RUN_PATH = u'/usr/share/intellij-idea-ue-bundled-jre/bin/idea.sh'

@njam updated it

My bad, I'm travelling and only have a slow internet connection. I will update it in 2 weeks. I also made you co-maintainer, so please feel free to update it in the meantime if you want. Sorry!

Why is this not being updated to 2017.1.1 ?
