Actually, @runaz, I run the latest version I get:

[13560:1025/161445.356653:FATAL:spawn_subprocess.cc(221)] posix_spawn: Permission denied (13)

I can run the .appimage in:

~/.cache/yay/iota-firefly-wallet/firefly-iota-desktop-2.0.2.AppImage

To get it working but I am debugging deep links right now and I think the unpacking of the appimage seems to not be working. Let me check permissions in my /opt/iota-firefly-wallet/ because the shimmer one seems to be working just fine.

Okay I noticed that chrome_crashpad_handler is executable in shimmer but not in the iota desktop so I ran:

sudo chmod +x /opt/iota-firefly-wallet/chrome_crashpad_handler

Now iota-firefly-wallet is running just fine. I am not sure if this is an issue with the tar on the recent build? Maybe the Firefly messed up idk

@runaz I'm not really sure how much development they're planning to put into the 1.x version, but if we assume the main branch of the github (https://github.com/iotaledger/firefly/tree/main) will continue tracking the 1.x version, then it looks like they've at least made a couple commit since the 1.7.1 release date.

@TheStochasticMan agreed. I've reverted the last commit for now and will think about your suggestion.

Do you know if the 1.x version receives any more updates? When I look at the Github repo it seems like they jumped from 1.7 to the 2.x version https://github.com/iotaledger/firefly/releases
