IronPython v2.7.12 was released in January 2022. The package() phase of the build is failing because it expects a .deb with a 2.7.11 version:

Error:

mschu: I added some more minor fixes (passing parameters, escaped path). I have tried to get stdlib working, but without success. I'm getting sigsegvs when using _weakrefset.py.

mschu: Please see, the fixed PKGBUILD again - https://gist.github.com/Dundee/8c38c2b24d5c0d5cf4bffc2471360524 I added checkout to specific commit, which is the last known to be working on Arch.

I'm aware of the problem, but I haven't managed to fix it unfortunately. The PKGBUILD dundee provided never worked for me. I'm tempted to orphan this.
