Package updated.

Since now this package will follow the iscan package version used to distribute the plugin, instead of the internal numbering into the package, as EPSON people won't respect version number history

Does not work with Epson Perfection V19 My workflow is to download from https://support.epson.net/linux/en/epsonscan2.php 64 deb package, extract firmware esfw010c.bin and copy or replace to /usr/share/iscan/esfw010c.bin Now worked flawesly with simple-scan and iscan

iscan software was removed from the official repositories for these reasons. Epson is unable to properly maintain the software. The same software with different versions or minor changes is present in multiple bundles.

Using the iscan version present in the bundle for GT-S650, someone else will blame the software doesn't work anymore for his different model.

I can confirm JoeCool's findings. To get my Epson Perfection V39 work, I also had to replace the firmware file using the one provided by the epsoncan2-bundle. Thank you JoeCool for pointing this out (I have already been looking for a solution for roughly 2 months!)! For some details on my suffering and the solution see https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=282060.

I could not for the life of me get this to run on my Epson Perfection V39 flatbed scanner

Then I did a compare of the binary firmware from this package to the one included in "epsonscan2-non-free-plugin_1.0.0.5-1_amd64.deb" that is inside a download on Epson's homepage: epsonscan2-bundle-6.7.0.0.x86_64.deb.tar.gz

And once I replaced /usr/share/iscan/esfw010c.bin The scanner started working after plugging it in instead of only blinking endlessly.

@user202729, How do I apply a patch to PKGBUILD (I never had to do this before and Google didn't answer it clearly)
