It does end up loading the driver, I can see if in lsmod, but nothing shows up at /sys/bus/iio/devices/... ):
I'm using a custom ROM (john lewis' custom rom), I wonder if that might be it.

Right, the loading part is missing.
As for not detecting, the cause may be old kernel version. The module compiles against kernel 4.2. If the module is loaded you will see new device files in /sys/bus/iio

Hello,
I'm trying to use your driver. I believe you forgot to add a "depmod -a" in the PKGBUILD. Unfortuntately, my C720 is not detecting the ISL29018 (even after I load the module), do you do anything special after loading the module?
