Thank you. The previous error is gone, but the update now fails at a later step:

install: cannot stat 'jabref/bin/JabRef': No such file or directory
==> ERROR: A failure occurred in package().
    Aborting...
 -> error making: jabref-latest

It should work now, there was a version change.

Attempted upgrade fails with the following errors:

==> Starting pkgver()...
==> ERROR: pkgver is not allowed to be empty.
==> ERROR: pkgver() generated an invalid version:

@CaptainJack42, I've lowercased the path.

CaptainJack42 commented on 2022-06-14 10:27 (UTC)

The installation path should be updated to not use CamelCase ( /opt/jabref/ instead of /opt/JabRef/ ) to be compatible with the browser extensions ( or rather the org.jabref.jabref.json files linked in the installation manual. I know these files also exist in /opt/lib/JabRef/native-messaging-host/ with the correct paths, but it takes some unnecessary time to figure out what went wrong, especially since jabref-git and jabref also use the lowercase path from what i can see.

j0hannes: Thank you for the tip-off! It was indeed a caching issue. I was using yay and selecting the cleanBuild option did the trick.

@professed: I just downloaded the snapshot, extracted it to an empty directory, changed into the package directory and ran 'makepkg -s'. This is how it looks for me: https://paste.laravel.io/9da49a71-b0ba-472a-9659-7e5ead053662

Are you sure that there is no caching involved? Are you using an AUR helper?

@j0hannes: Sorry for the delayed response. I tried again today and the validity check for 'LICENSE.md' is still failing. Thanks for your help!

Hi professed, I actually updated this checksum four days ago when I took note that it didn't validate anymore. I just rebuilt the package from AUR. Could you please check if you please check again?

professed commented on 2021-01-18 01:58 (UTC)

Validity check fails for 'LICENSE.md'. Please advise/update the checksum in the PKGBUILD.
