Important Oracle JDK License Update

The Oracle JDK License has changed for releases starting April 16, 2019.

The new Oracle Technology Network License Agreement for Oracle Java SE is substantially different from prior Oracle JDK licenses. The new license permits certain uses, such as personal use and development use, at no cost -- but other uses authorized under prior Oracle JDK licenses may no longer be available.

This means the direct download without a Oracle account is not available anymore. You need to download the sources manually and put next to the PKGBUILD.

@gameslayer It's put in black and white - package needs to be downloaded manually. It's even printed you URL to site, where you can register and download it.

If you can't register at some reason - please use my repository for built package download. https://dx37.gitlab.io/dx37essentials/

@nougad

Thank you very much for replying!

I found some information regarding that here. https://wiki.openjdk.java.net/display/OpenJFX/Platforms

In essence it says that it depends on whether it uses hard float ABI or soft float.

I don't know myself what is true for this particular case and I'm only asking since both packages use the same source. It's not a big deal really.

Again thank you for clarifying!

@apodim: According to https://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/jdk-8-readme-2095712.html it's not included in the ARM build:

Note that the JDK on ARM does not include JavaFX.

I don't see any openjfx related files in the package so I assume it's true. Providing java-openjfx would be incorrect.

Please let me know if I'm wrong. Happy to add openjfx if it's included.

apodim commented on 2019-05-18 23:07

Can this provide java-openjfx=8 as https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/jdk8-arm/ does?

Sorry. MD5 checksums fixed.

flittermice commented on 2019-04-21 10:08

I had to change the MD5sum to: md5sums_armv7h=('519fd3db9a5c6fc92d8cafb46e3b165b')

Thanks for the notice. I updated the package to latest version 8u181.

The package is currently not working as the linked jdk version is no longer available on the oracle site.
