@Jristz automatically download is not possible. Oracle requires an Oracle account for sdk5. The method used before may work for newer releases, but not for sdk5 (stopped working for sdk5 a few months ago). I changed the URLs to to fix this issue.

"file:///" I think somethink like that is the local file usrl used on pkgbuild, you could change to that if you can make this package behave like the other jdks in the aur instead of blindly make it look like is downloading the source.

jet the alternative is make it download the package automatically like the others jdk since if we are installing this is implied that we accept the license.

And is where the archival is located and for java5 if you want try to automate download the latest public EOL release (like jdk7 and jdk6)

@zaidan, oh sorry, I didn't know that. Thanks anyway!

@Ionaowna Sorry, I can only add a note. AUR does not support removing the URL and refuses my commit:

remote: error: missing source file: jdk-1_5_0_22-linux-i586.bin

@zaidan, can you remove the URLs from the PKGBUILD? Then it's clear that they have to be downloaded manually. Perhaps leave something like this:

# NOTE: please manually download these files from

Oracle's otn-pub directory does not contain the files anymore.
You get a 404 with:
wget --no-cookies --no-check-certificate --header "Cookie:; oraclelicense=accept-securebackup-cookie"

When you try to download it from the official site you will get a redirect to the Oracle login page:

You have to create an account to get access to the download. The file
is downloadable after login.

This is not required for jdk8.
