@djmattyg007 I've taken this over. Do you still need ADVANCED_USAGE.md in the package? Can you explain more what that's about if so?

Hi, thanks for reaching out.

  1. PYTHONHASHSEED wasn't removed, it's being exported to keep the line length down.
  2. The changelog is being added to the package automatically using makepkg; this requires the file being in the same directory as the PKGBUILD (jellex does the same thing). By doing so, the user can call pacman -Qc jello to read the changelog, rather than dig through /usr/share/doc/ for it. Also, upstream includes the changelog in both the repo and PyPI because they distribute the exact same tarball for both platforms.
  3. I can look into this, yes.

Hi, I have a couple of questions about this package.

  1. Why was the PYTHONHASHSEED=0 environment variable removed? I thought it was important for reproducible builds.

  2. Why is there a copy of the changelog stored in the repo, when the changelog is included in the PyPI package AND in the github repo?

  3. Would you be able to include ADVANCED_USAGE.md in the package?

The next version of jello will include the changelog in the PyPI package: https://github.com/kellyjonbrazil/jello/commit/2d645b2f20f2bafe279322375bce99c9b9ebcaed

This will remove the need to keep a copy of the changelog in the AUR repo.
