If you are using firefox and it hangs trying to load Kavita, add a /login to the end of the URL

@rahulmb, how are you installing this packed? Are you doing it by hand or using a tool like yay? Are you sure your OS is 64 bit?

CountMurphy commented on 2023-06-19 14:34 (UTC)

I can't reopen the issue. I'm not affiliated with the official project in anyway. I'm just an arch user who liked the software and wanted to make installing it easy with a package manager.

Could you reopen the issue? I reposted and doesn't look like anyone actually read it. https://github.com/Kareadita/Kavita/issues/2085

strace didn't really give any clues, but I'm not used to looking at machine instructions. However, the archless package failed so the issue is upstream.

CountMurphy commented on 2023-06-19 02:36 (UTC)

I'm assuming the binary doesn't give any useful output before the crash? If not, I'd run strace on the binary. Might tell you why its crashing (trying to access a resource you don't have etc).

If that doesn't give any clues, I'd try to download kavita straight from git hub, bypassing the arch package. Download straight to a temporary directory (home or something) and run the new binary directly from there. That should bypass all the symlinks I made for the arch package to run. If the "archless" version runs, then we have narrowed down that the arch package is to blame. If not, we know the issue is upstream.

I'm running into a sigill (illegal instruction) issue when I run the binary for aarch64 on an odroid hc4. The previous binaries have been working. I just tried redownloading and reinstall. I know it's been tested on a pi 3. Any ideas on what to try?

Alright, should be fixed now. Both upgrading and fresh installs should have the correct permissions

Confirmed too on my end. I'll have this patched momentarily.

paxchristos commented on 2023-06-08 04:20 (UTC)

Correct, issue happened on current pkgbuild 0.7.3-2

Came from (according to old pkgbuild) Pkgver=0.7.2 pkgrel=0

@paxchristos, did you run into these issues with package version 0.7.3-2? If so I have some more tweaking I'll need to do (only tested with a fresh VM install, but did not test upgrading 7.2-7.3).
