OK. I had a quick look. All you need to do is download manually the desktop file: as it is stipulated in the PKGBUILD.
Please, go to https://store.kde.org/p/998445 and downlaod it manually, then try again. Keep me posted so that I know everything is fine.

You forgot to update your .SRCINFO. The pkgrel there is still set to 6, while the pkrel in your PKGBUILD is set to 7. Can you please update it? Thanks.

@gambas: You need to download it manually. Normally, qhen you try to run makepkg, this PKGBUILD should show the followin message: «The source file for this package need to be downloaded manually, since it changes frequently. Please visit https://store.kde.org/p/998445.»
Please, don't flag this package out of date. Just follow the instructions.

@TioDuke Thank you! And it seems you are right - I tried installing right now and got the familiar error message:
"141946-MediaInfoKDE.desktop ... FAILED"
Can someone please tell me what exactly to change in the PKGBUILD to make the installation succeed?
