That's really sad. Anyway I've updated it to the latest version :( Was wondering why I was getting conflicts again.

The old behavior was indeed reverted with https://invent.kde.org/network/kdeconnect-kde/-/commit/09b70658f545a3f37c29cfff75cdb00d2d851fa8 (sigh)

I think that this package is still needed to completely remove mdns from kdeconnect. The newer versions seem to have some autodetection logic that is supposed to determine if there is avahi running or not, but the logic is broken and on an erratic basis I still see kdeconnectd binding to 5353 totally breaking avahi. This is evident from avahi reporting: *** WARNING: Detected another IPv4 mDNS stack running on this host. This makes mDNS unreliable and is thus not recommended. ***. Killing kdeconnectd and restarting avahi-daemon seems the only way to fix the issue.

ryan.steed: also saw that in my bug notifications a while back! And thank you for the notification, merged with upstream. Can't wait to drop this PKGBUILD as it is quite a chore.

Thanks for maintaining this package, relief is on the horizon, MDNS is disabled by default in v25.11.80+.
But until then, I'd like to request an upstream security fix:

Thanks @ufo_driver! I've added it to my reader/notifications.

@kelvie you can use this Atom in your RSS reader: https://invent.kde.org/network/kdeconnect-kde/-/tags?format=atom
This way you will be notified immediately by their GitLab.

Thank you to whoever keeps sending the out-of-date notifications. I actually have an rss reader set up to look for updates, but whenever KDE releases, there are way too many entries in the arch RSS feed for me to get notified that this is out of date automatically.
Anyone else know how else I can get notified that there's a new version without relying on someone to ping me here?

I have no idea how it got to .4, possibly a merge conflict blooper.

Did you forgot to commit PKGBUILD?
