Slightly modified PKGBUILD, since the layout of the tar file changed and it wouldn't build for me:

Thanks for the suggestions.

I've wrote new PKGBUILD for KindleGen 2.9 at
Replace old PKGBUILD to get latest version of KindleGen

v2.9 is out now. The new md5sum is '787e4205f6acfe92af9908913b49f34a'.
Also, build() should probably be changed to package() for pacman>=4.1.

The Amazon page now links to '', but the current source URL still works with the new version.

Updated to v2.8 and changed URL to HTTPS.

Please change the URL to HTTPS. In some regions of the world, accessing Amazon S3 via HTTP is blocked. Thanks.

Thanks for letting me know. I've updated the licence.

Had you read licence terms? It's a propietary software, not GPL (and includes EULA licence on tar.gz).

Thanks for the suggestion.

I've updated PKGBUILD as you suggested. Hope everything works fine now.

This generates an empty package for me... (I have some settings in my makepkg.conf that break $startdir/pkg)

Please change all the build commands (the lines with cd, mkdir and mv) to:

install -D -m755 $srcdir/kindlegen $pkgdir/usr/bin/kindlegen
