scdoc needs to be added as a make dependency to make the man pages for this package.

So? Fix it and send the patch upstream.

@falconindy: And why is that? kmod itself is a relatively new software so i don't see why any reason xz support should not be enabled by default. Any link to ML discussion regadring this? Anyway I am asking for this flag (as default) in this package alone, not in extra/kmod (or is it core). Also why does this pkg use --with-rootlibdir=/lib while the same thing does not exist in extra/kmod pkg? kmod is required for udev>=176, right?

falconindy commented on 2012-01-01 16:03 (UTC)

Please add --with-xz yourself. There will never be xz support in the stable release in core.

BTW will xz compressed kernel modules reduce size of linux package in the filesystem (disk usage, not package size)? Seems like xz support is not in module-init-tools.

Please add --with-xz to ./autogen.sh . And why use --with-rootlibdir=/lib , why not --with-rootlibdir=/usr/lib ? Any advantage to use /lib when people are talking about moving everything to /usr (https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Features/UsrMove)?

Very interesting...
