Still getting missing deps

CMake Error at /usr/share/cmake-3.8/Modules/FindPackageHandleStandardArgs.cmake:137 (message):
Could NOT find PythonInterp (missing: PYTHON_EXECUTABLE)

Build in clean chroot with `makechrootpkg`.

Upstream URL is outdated

Thaodan commented on 2017-04-18 21:40

Automoc4 isn't neededed anymore thats the reason.
About the filename thing: you can keep it as you want its not relevant I just changed the url and skipped the :: part.

fordprefect commented on 2017-04-18 21:27

@Thaodan: thank you for trying to help. please note that epoch wont go away once introduced. also, your patch could have been summarized in one sentence, if applied to the most recent PKGBUILD: automoc4 is not a makedep anymore. Also i dont understand why you propose to change source file name.

Thaodan commented on 2017-04-18 08:35

for fixed deps apply this:
diff --git a/PKGBUILD b/PKGBUILD
index e55d196..04ce1c8 100644
@@ -1,14 +1,13 @@
pkgdesc="Mozilla KDE Integration."
arch=("i686" "x86_64")
-makedepends=("cmake" "automoc4" "extra-cmake-modules")
+depends=(knotifications kio kwindowsystem ki18n )
+makedepends=("cmake" "extra-cmake-modules")

build() {

Thaodan commented on 2017-04-18 08:34

dependencies are still wrong

fordprefect commented on 2017-04-04 21:27

@oi_wtf: thanks for the hints, i added those dependencies.

oi_wtf commented on 2017-04-04 21:16

Missing dependencies, cmake says: (cmake stack traces removed for readability)

-- Could NOT find KF5Notifications: found neither KF5NotificationsConfig.cmake nor kf5notifications-config.cmake
-- Could NOT find KF5KIO: found neither KF5KIOConfig.cmake nor kf5kio-config.cmake
-- Could NOT find KF5WindowSystem: found neither KF5WindowSystemConfig.cmake nor kf5windowsystem-config.cmake
-- Could NOT find KF5I18n: found neither KF5I18nConfig.cmake nor kf5i18n-config.cmake
CMake Error at /usr/share/cmake-3.7/Modules/FindPackageHandleStandardArgs.cmake:138 (message):
Could NOT find KF5 (missing: Notifications KIO WindowSystem I18n)

-- Configuring incomplete, errors occurred!

So those packages should be added to either depends or makedepends:

* knotifications
* kio
* kwindowsystem
* ki18n

After fixing the above, I get:

CMake Error at /usr/share/cmake-3.7/Modules/FindPackageHandleStandardArgs.cmake:138 (message):
Could NOT find PythonInterp (missing: PYTHON_EXECUTABLE)

so python should be added to depends or makedepends, too.

it isn't tagged in the projectg repo, but opensuse the creater of the pkg changed the version of their pkg to 0.6.5.
Wolfgang Rosenauer the maintainer of the patchset is quite active, the patches are always up to date for the latest firefox version.

fordprefect commented on 2016-09-18 00:43

ok, so this package concerns the remaining kde4 users only, thats quite obvious.
the revert was from logic, because it pretended a release that didnt exist. does it do much harm to anyone? if so, we need to have a new version named accordingly (e.g 0.6.4.latest or 0.6.4.$gitcommit), if not it can stay this way for now.
in the long term this package will go away because a) kde4 is phasing out, and b) this package breaks more over time.

Thaodan commented on 2016-09-18 00:37

It is broken or better unmaintained. It was loosely updated to Frameworks like a s/KDE4/KF5/
But the kf5 version was needed since the KDE 4 version pulls a herd of KDE 4 deps with it.
So reverting to the latest stable version helps no one except the few remaining KDE 4 users.

fordprefect commented on 2016-09-18 00:24

@Thaodan: i appreciate your efforts to get another stable release, and pinning a commit is surely better than refering to git tip. actually deleting this package would propably be the best, as scarabeusiv states it is effectively broken. i just did not file a deletion request because it is a dependency of firefox-kde-opensuse (wich you happen to maintain). is this really broken or is it still of use for your package?

Thaodan commented on 2016-09-18 00:19

I was the privious maintainer and this is way I kept it to the latest stable release.
See this issue:

I made kmozillahelper-frameworks to provide a more updated version but a -git version would be better.

fordprefect commented on 2016-09-18 00:05

there is no version 0.6.5 of the software, previous maintainers just took the git tip and named it $((currentver+1)), which is totally not acceptable.
we might think about introducing a kmozillahelper-latest package, but there is no advantage in this either, because this project is practically dead.
if you want to contribute it, please refer to the developer site, they will happily grant you access.
still, this package represents the latest stable release, which is 0.6.4 at the moment.

svadkos commented on 2016-09-17 18:10

Why you downgrade version of this package?

fordprefect commented on 2016-09-13 09:03

@arp12: this lib contains adjustments used by the opensuse version of firefox, which is modified for kde. it does not change anything for firefox from the official repos afaik.

arp12 commented on 2016-09-13 05:38

OH right, I just noticed it's for KDE4 not plasma5. After installation nothing changes. Firefox and thunderbird use the same GTK-file selector, look the same, use GTK icons.

fordprefect commented on 2016-09-12 19:00

@arp12: please provide context.

arp12 commented on 2016-09-12 15:47

I dont see any difference. What does it bring to the table?

FadeMind commented on 2016-06-25 07:31

Adopted, updated.

francoism90 commented on 2016-04-27 13:54

@Colibris: this package is out-of-dated, see link I posted earlier for a replacement.

Colibris commented on 2016-04-27 12:52

Hello, thanks for the good work !

Unfortunately I can't install it (in order to install firefox-kde-opensuse) :

curl: (22) The requested URL returned error: 401 Unauthorized
==> ERREUR : Erreur lors du téléchargement de
==> ERREUR : Makepkg n'a pas pu construire kmozillahelper.

Also, does this package conflict with the KF5 one ? If so, is there a way to use the KF5 one for firefox-kde-opensuse ?

Thanks, and have a nice day !

BasT commented on 2016-02-23 19:49

Is this updated to kf5 yet? If not, what's the best choice? kmozillahelper-frameworks?

The link to the pkgbuild below is dead.

thisischrys commented on 2016-01-25 07:00

curl: (22) The requested URL returned error: 401 Unauthorized
==> ERROR: Failure while downloading kmozillahelper-0.6.4.tar.bz2
==> ERROR: Makepkg was unable to build kmozillahelper.

FadeMind commented on 2016-01-17 18:02

Why then not merge kmozillahelper with -frameworks jet?

Thaodan commented on 2016-01-17 18:00

the orphan request useless, there's kmozillahelper-frameworks which has nearly the same code as your posted source. I'll update this packages soon but you can't say I didn't update it as there's really new difference between the new source and mine.

francoism90 commented on 2016-01-17 16:45

Please update, using this one instead:

maz-1 commented on 2015-12-26 13:15

Will you update to kf5 branch?
