For me, both versions have the same effect. I found it interesting to run Komodo Edit command line, however, and if the Komodo IDE installed on the same machine (they are not mutually incompatible). More work to fix what is already simple. KISS philosophy.

suggestion to the line of dependencies: pkgrel=5 depends=('glibc>=2.4' 'libjpeg>=6.2' 'gcc-libs' 'gtk2>=2.10')

gcc-libs provides libstdc++6 and depends on glibc. libjpeg is a dependency and depends on glibc too. I think you can put just gtk2, gcc-libs and libjpeg as dependencies. http://www.activestate.com/komodo-ide/requirements
