@adlerweb : Hum ... interesting. I use yaourt to and there's no problem but it's the first real track to follow.

Uhm… @sylvite: Are you using a AUR-manager by any chance? Just noticed the same segfault-problem when yaourt updated to 8.5.2_13850-4 - i reinstalled using just makepkg/pacman and everything is starting fine again. Reproducible on my system, every installation using yaourt broke, makepkg fine…

@max-k: * latest -4 newly updated: yes * crashes on startup * also still crashes when remove ~/.komodoedit I put output from several commands (gdb, strace, valgrind, etc.) here: http://pastebin.com/rbGraCpM I also downloaded the tar.gz files from activestate for versions 7.1.3, 8.0.0, 8.0.2, 8.5.0, and 8.5.1. I installed each of them in a separate directory in my hone dir. And every one of them runs just fine. I also copied /opt/komodo-edit (installed from this latest 8.5.2...-4 package) to a subdir in my home, and after chown'ing it and running it, it still core dumps. I also ran `sudo ./install.sh` to /opt/komodo-edit-x, and that install runs fine. So, every combination I can think of where I install old or current versions, as user or as root, in my home or in /opt-- every single one of them works and runs fine running the archive's install.sh manually. But in all but one case over the past year (when it somehow magically worked for 8.5.0 several months ago), I've never had anything but problems when trying to get this AUR/PKGBUILD to run-- and many times it didn't even install correctly. So, I'm just a little frustrated, and am just going back to using 8.5.2 installed in my home directory, which works fine. (I have about 40 or so AUR packages intalled, and this is the only one I've ever had problems with.)

@Sylvite: * Are you testing with 8.5.2_13850-4 newly updated version ? * Does Komodo start on does it crash at startup ? * Does komodo works when you remove your ~/.komodoedit directory ? * Could you try to get more infos on the problem using this guide ? https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Step_By_Step_Debugging_Guide If you find something, i'll help you to find a solution if possible.

Tried new package-- same result: several GLib-GObject-WARNING's, and then segmentation fault (core dumped) /opt/komodo-edit/bin/komodo I'm also running KDE, and openbox. I had 8.5.0 running fine for several months from this package. As soon as this package was updated to 8.5.1, this package has not worked since. But manually installing and running the unpatched, unmodified .tar.gz & install.sh from ActiveState on KDE and openbox both does work. I have the unpatched, unmodified Activestate package installed to ~/opt/komodo-edit. I discovered today that all the GLib-GObject WARNING's are probably a red herring... running from my ~/opt/komodo-edit, I get the exact same WARNING's. But I don't get the segfault. This is in both KDE and openbox.

@willemw : Ok, i consider this bug resolved if the crash doesn't come back. @mrzeznicki : I agree with that. I added these deps only for testing purpose.
