Yes, when you build packages in clean chroot it will pull 800 MB of KDE/Qt/... dependencies for nothing, because there is nothing to build.

My bad, that package hadn't received any love in a really long time... Out of pure curiosity was there any particular issue you ran into with having "konsole" as a dependency?

The version string is wrong, because the pkgver() function is missing.

Also, can you set konsole as optdepends instead of depends?
