The error shows up even when I sed out all the #error lines. Not sure how it's getting triggered.

See: https://bpa.st/raw/4H4Q

The line numbers it shows the errors stemming from are #include <QtCore....

Filed an issue upstream: https://github.com/kotatogram/kotatogram-desktop/issues/464
Please add more information if possible.

There are 116 files that use the #error macro, all except 1 in submodules.

@FlooferLand Incompatibility with Qt 6.8 is a known problem. Have to wait for upstream to resync with newer version of Telegram. (Unless maintainer wants to write a custom patch.)

This doesn't compile on Plasma 6.2.3

It seems like an issue with the git repo itself though?

I get like 10 of the same "FAILED" messages:

/usr/include/qt6/QtCore/qchar.h:66:2: error: #error This macro has been removed in Qt 6.8.
66 | #error This macro has been removed in Qt 6.8.
      | ^~~~~

then this and the build aborts:

[45/1474] Building CXX object cmake/external/glib/cppgir/CMakeFiles/cppgir.dir/tools/genns.cpp.o
ninja: build stopped: subcommand failed.

I can't compile kotatogram-desktop either due to "gsl/gsl_assert" missing, but that package is also the ~3 year old 1.4.9 version and I personally prefer this package since it seems to be the latest unstable build

Yeah, looks like I messed something up myself.. After rebuilding just kotatogram-desktop-git everything works.

No, I haven't changed any options in PKGBUILD. It might have something to do with using some of the chaotic-aur/archlinuxcn packages

Thanks for the help!

kotatogram-desktop: error while loading shared libraries: libabsl_strings.so.2308.0.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Even after full system upgrade + rebuild of these AUR packages:
aur/abseil-cpp-git r1653.7152f9bc-3 aur/libtg_owt-git 0.git.r397.afd9d5d3-1 aur/kotatogram-desktop-git 1.4.14.r4897.g0c4ceba-1

This package doesn't work too: extra/abseil-cpp 20240116.1-1
