This package should not include pre-release versions like the current 4.2.3 RC1 that is now the version of this package. The latest normal stable version on GitHub, which should be the version here, is 4.2.2, since the name of the software is usually expected to contain the latest stable version, see other packages in the AUR. Please create a different package called kscript-beta or similar for that if desired.

Error when installing, because it now again contains a hyphen, which is not allowed, see the rules in the previous comment.

==> ERROR: pkgver is not allowed to contain colons, forward slashes, hyphens or whitespace.
 -> error making: kscript-exit status 12

The pkgver should not contain a hyphen and should be replaced by an underscore, see: for the rules.

The PKGBUILD generation has been mostly fixed. However, it still seems to generate the wrong checksum for the source file. The correct checksum for is 85bbed4e20d40613b06c0e11cc9358b36000afebeb613baf07e975448ea18f2c. There's an issue tracking this at

Heads up: I believe bf46e4b9f3bd broke the PKGBUILD.

Like, all the variables have been removed from the strings.

Hey there. I'm the github repo maintainer of kscript.

In a PR[1] for installation instructions of kscript on github, the author of kscript asked if there is a way to automate updates of new releases on AUR. I am not familiar with AUR package maintenance, so I cannot comment on that. Please leave a comment in the PR whether that is possible/worthwile and what would be necessary steps on the kscript side.

Thanks khentek, Maven dependency has been added.

khentek commented on 2018-08-18 13:18 (UTC)

Considering Maven package support is an integral part of kscript, and the installation instruction also specified Maven is required, Maven should be a dependency of this module
