Here is https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/ksnip/ version 1.5.0, it works on my laptop.

dporobic commented on 2019-09-04 06:54

@dracorp yes this is probably the usual way to do it. You do miss the latest features and bug fixes but it's more stable and causes less confusion for users. Out of curiosity, is there a way to have a stable and unstable package for those that like to try out new stuff?

dracorp commented on 2019-09-04 06:43

@dporobic thx for explanation For me the best solution would be created a new package for release version not for latest changes (git version).

Yes, the kImaeAnnotator version was raised as I have added another method to the interface. The versions are:

kImageAnnotator:
0.0.2 -> Replaced by 0.1.0
0.1.0 -> Stable
0.2.0 -> Currently under development
ksnip
1.5.0 -> Stable, depends on kImageAnnotator 0.0.2 (preferred 0.1.0)
1.6.0 -> Currently under development, depends on kImageAnnotator 0.2.0

ksnip 1.6.0 is WIP and subject to change but brings new features and bug fixes.

Hope this helps

me, too as vitiok78

Same issue: can't build it. I think author changed the kImageAnnotator but for version 1.6.0 of ksnip. Maybe it's time to move to 1.6.0?

Darn, tried to update, it wont do that and now iv lost the ability to even do a clean build from git :-/ I have been tinkering all day but i really dont have a clue what im doing.

CMake Error at CMakeLists.txt:48 (find_package):
By not providing "FindkImageAnnotator.cmake" in CMAKE_MODULE_PATH this
project has asked CMake to find a package configuration file provided by
"kImageAnnotator", but CMake did not find one.

Could not find a package configuration file provided by "kImageAnnotator"
(requested version 0.1.0) with any of the following names:

  kImageAnnotatorConfig.cmake
  kimageannotator-config.cmake

Add the installation prefix of "kImageAnnotator" to CMAKE_PREFIX_PATH or
set "kImageAnnotator_DIR" to a directory containing one of the above files.
If "kImageAnnotator" provides a separate development package or SDK, be
sure it has been installed.
