it makes a lot of sense to add completion as well now that it's been brought up.

Completion has been added about an year ago. Doesn't it work for you?

This package only fetches the binary release of kubectl, and as such does not have the sources to generate manpages. The full source release would be needed, as well as some build dependencies to generate them.

From what I can tell by inspecting the pages are (somehow) generated. Unless these are also outdated, then forgive me for mentioning this. If they aren't and someone is willing to package them together, it makes a lot of sense to add completion as well now that it's been brought up.

Later Edit: I checked the kubectl on all distros at it seems that even the official repo does not provide completion or man. You have to add completion by hand, after the install. I also looked for man pages and I found only third party man pages (which seem to be from 2015, so outdated), since kubernetes seems to favor their web documentation instead of man.

I don't think it's wise to add man to this package atm. If the situation changes and somebody writes proper man pages for kubectl, please mail me and I will fork the AUR package and add the man.

Is it possible for this package to provide the kubectl man pages?

@larte: sorry it's from the package:

@bounteous: kubectl-bin does not provide any systemd units. Looks like that's for kubelet, maybe kubelet-bin?

bounteous commented on 2018-11-18 12:28

Systemctl service not working by default

/usr/bin/kubelet --logtostderr=true --v=0 --api-servers= --address= --hostname-override= --allow-privileged=false

unknown flag: --api-servers

Fixed the mismatch in pkgrel.
