I'm afraid updating this package will be hard due to the fact that Lantern uses their fork of Go.

This package maintenance is being intentionally held back.

Please clarify in detail the reason why it has not advanced to the current revision of Lantern, 3.6.1 when other packages are up to date (i.e., deb).

my architecture is armv7.

@deathtrip It would be great if the package was moved to community. As you can see it's not ready yet, because some people are having trouble compiling it.
Unfortunatelly I got no response from Lantern team.
I'll work on it.

What about the earlier mentioned plans of moving it into [community]?
At 216 MB go is a pretty big dependency, so moving into official repos would make things easier.

@MarcinWieczorek, Yes. It's my netbook used for years.

I've reinstalled Archlinux without changing anything to /etc files. The compilation process was end with that error message. What's wrong?

@westmin and your architecture is x86 I suppose?

go build: -race and -msan are only supported on linux/amd64, freebsd/amd64, darwin/amd64 and windows/amd64
make: *** [Makefile:336: lantern] Error 2

rezad commented on 2016-06-28 09:16

can the maintainer of this package make a patch for it to check if the cpu type is ARM to compile on arm too?

this error occurs on compilation:
"go build: -race and -msan are only supported on linux/amd64, freebsd/amd64, darwin/amd64 and windows/amd64
make: *** [Makefile:336: lantern] Error 2"

removing the "-race" from line 339 makes this error go away.
