Hello dear Laverna user/installer/follower,

I'll still maintain this package with patches if needed but I - unfortunately - have to inform you that Laverna is now deprecated.

Please report to https://github.com/Laverna/laverna/issues/971#issuecomment-411423965 for the current state of Laverna and https://github.com/encryptic-team/encryptic for the future of Laverna.

If you want to install/test Encryptic please follow https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/encryptic/ !

I wish you all a happy New Year and a nice day/night!

Cheers, funilrys

On up-to-date Manjaro 20.2.1 - segfaults with "Pango-ERROR: harfbuzz version too old (1.0.0)". The same thing happens if you use the precompiled binary from their website, so not sure if the AUR package can do anything.

I get a Segmentation fault ('core' generated) when i try to open it. Anyone knows how can I recover my notes?

Hmmm, anyone know why this package is failing to add the .desktop file listed in sources on Gnome? I can only launch from terminal on Gnome.

I confirm: Dropbox auth sign in screen freezes with heavy cpu effort. Authenticating with the browser works. Any fix incoming?

@violentmagician let's continue this discussion on Gitter! (just sent you a message)

@funilrys i felt that Dropbox support was essential and that since it is currently broken in this RC i felt that i should be able to downgrade to the latest stable instead. Anyway i found the commit causing the segfault and asked the upstream devs to help me look into this since i am not familiar with the code base. Hopefully they can fix that soon and release the new version. I am really looking forward to sorting the notes by title.

@violentmagician, what would be the differences between this and laverna-stable ? (I'm open but you have to convince me)

violentmagician commented on 2017-02-19 08:55 (UTC)

Can we please rename this to laverna-unstable? Or would anyone mind if i make a laverna-stable package?

Fixed and Thanks @denmord

Hello @arslanone + @tscs37 + @jerome2016 , Laverna have this known issue. The team work on the fix of it.

arslanone commented on 2016-11-07 09:06 (UTC)

Yes, it crashes when trying to connect to Dropbox for auth. Says: "Segmentation fault (core dumped)"

tscs37 commented on 2016-11-06 11:27 (UTC)

It seems there is some sort of bug. When attempting to connect to Dropbox, the application hangs and crashes with a segfault. Maybe there is some missing dependency, in it's current state this package is not usuable.

installed, then try to give a sync to dropbox... windows oauth for dropbox opened, then wait... then crash: 1502 segmentation fault (core dumped) laverna when try it without synchro on dropbox, i see that it seems to be a forkj of turtl, but for images, it failed where turtl doesn't failed. actualy, laverna doesn't works and not give more information on his own problem.
