That was very fast... Thank you very much ghotrix!

it seems that yay do not persist exports between stages (export was done on prepare() stage and was not available on build() one), fixed

export part is in the pkgbuild, but "yay", somehow, ignores it, will try to find out why: makepkg itself building it perfectly

I used "yay". The sources are apparently copied into ~/.cache/yay/... After manually executing the "export" command from the README.md, it seems to work.

Which tool you're using to install from AUR?

Thank you for the quick reply! I do not think I changed the PKGBUILD, and to be sure, just deleted the cache folder. Still get the same error (cannot find package "client"...).
Since no one else seems to have my problem, I guess that I have either misconfigured something or I don't have the right client package installed.

that's strange, it builds nicely for me, are you sure you didn't touch PKGBUILD?

When I try to install the package, I get the following error:
lc0_main.go:29:2: cannot find package "client" in any of: /usr/lib/go/src/client (from $GOROOT) /home/fritz/go/src/client (from $GOPATH)
Go files called "client.go" can be found under the following paths: /usr/lib/go/src/net/http/client.go /usr/lib/go/src/net/rpc/client.go /usr/lib/go/src/net/rpc/jsonrpc/client.go
Is one of the three files the expected package, or do I need to install something else?

The client expects the lc0 binary in the same folder so I have to cd to /usr/bin for it to start correctly.
And even then I get "c0_main.go:719: Unable to lock: open /usr/bin/networks/c882007a73758f74532f321f02967d060176cff2187e2efbf57fba01d0d01caa.lck.281340547: no such file or directory"
So I think this package should instead put the binaries in a folder and add to /usr/bin a script which goes in the directory and start the client from there
