This is not out-of-date since Ledger has not yet released an AppImage of 2.90.0 nor a hash signature.

It includes the udev rules to eliminate an extra package dependency. It explicitly lists other dependencies to comply with namcap recommendations. It copies the AppImage directly into /opt instead of extracting and copying all its files (with the exception of the desktop entry and icons). It adds categories to the desktop entry so that it shows up in categorized application menus. Its package name reflects the package type. If you would like to find more differences, I invite you to read each PKGBUILD file to compare and contrast the two.
