Thanks for the feedback. I'm aware, that this could be annoying. But I don't think I will change this in the near future.
You could lower the occurrence of those "wrong" words by using your own wordlist that contains only words with at least 6 or more letters. You can also copy the existing words file and modify it. You find it under /usr/share/lettersalad/.

Hi, I'm still getting quite a lot of "Sorry, that was wrong. Try again!", although the words are definitely there.
E.g. http://ompldr.org/vaHFtNw (the highlighted ones were the two words which were counted as "wrong guesses")
I can imagine that it's horribly difficult to avoid this, but I wanted to inform you :)
