In the end I removed it and it didn't break anything. It first came in with steam, so I think they're removed it as a dependency.

For me downgrading jsoncpp to 1.9.6-3 from 1.9.8-1 and manually adding Sam Lantinga from https://www.libsdl.org/signing-keys.php did the trick. Yay asked me to import the gpg key but that failed, but that could be a problem on my side.

I keep on getting failure to verify one or more PGP signatures.

I'm upgrading from 2.32.70-1, and I didn't have to add a key then. So not sure what I need to do this time around. Any pointers ? I can see Sam Lantinga is a real person (and relevant to the project) but I don't want to go around randomly adding other peoples keys when I didn't do that the first time around.

I couldn't build it with the tests on the 2.32.72 release. I had to disable them by appending the option -DSDL2COMPAT_TESTS=OFF to the build() function.

Found that tip on the sdl2-compat-git PKGBUILD.

Wouldn't it be better to extend the compiler flags through the respective flags env vars instead of embedding it into the compiler executable env var? See: https://manual.archlinux.page/package-guidelines/32-bit/
