Please read the AUR wiki page before reporting issues.

In addition, if you are experiencing a build issue then ensure you have tried building without using an AUR helper (e.g. makepkg) and with a clean chroot (e.g. makechrootpkg).

This package currently uses an arbitrary commit from the upstream source that works with Shortwave.

The upstream project is pre-release and shouldn't be used yet.

@butler360, builds fine for me. If issues persist without a helper and while using a clean chroot then post full output somewhere and link.

Anyone else getting this build failure?

I considered it, but according to upstream any version numbers within the source code (or commit history) are meaningless. Even the soname might change...

At the moment this is very definitely a "pre-v1" package.

Perhaps use the version in the meson.build to generate the pkgver instead?

printf "%s.r%s.g%s" "$(grep -m1 'version' meson.build | sed -r 's/([^0-9]*([0-9.]+)).*/\2/')" \
  "$(git rev-list --count HEAD)" "$(git rev-parse --short HEAD)"
