That was supposed to be the plan, but I cannot tell how far that has come. There was some talk of this some time ago, that the kernel was beginning to include firewire device support. I don't think that means "kernel support firewire devices now", although I'd like to know myself the state of things today. Unfortunately, I have been away from reading my mailing lists so if you find some information, do report back :)

so there are problems with ffado and linux 3.19
I didn't fin a discussion on forum only a bug report: https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/44258
the kernel seams to suport firewire devices now?!

It builds fine here. Are you having runtime problems or some other issue?

Does anyone have a working PKGBUILD for this?
Comment by schivmeister
It was just a shebang issue. Anyway, orphaning this now as it'll be better cared for under someone who actually has real need for it.

And it looks like I need to rework the python patch. If anyone is looking for a quick update and does not need python compatibility (if you force symlink python to python2), then for the meantime get this: http://bpaste.net/show/176635/

BTW, I have used this to build a recent version, and it works great (recent changes make my device work again with newer firmware). But the process was kind of messy and I don't have a good PKGBUILD.

I use/need it, pls update! :)

You are right, I should've orphaned this right then but didn't think anyone would adopt it (judging from the number of votes). I'll orphan it in the next 24 hours regardless of whether I manage to update it within a day.
