I updated the broken link and added x86_64 but why did you flag it out-of-date. I do not find a newer version.
When adding python2 as a dependency, it does not compile on my machine due to a problem with the encoding in rbgen. Do you have the same problem?

You need to add python2 as a dependency, and running configure --with-python=/usr/bin/python2.
This package should work fine on x86_64 architectures as well as i686.
