@fbis251 I've added those changes, thanks. @Enverex Didn't know that. you can opt to only install the -hw package if you like, I don't see any need to remove the software-only one, somebody might prefer to use that. @ProfessorKaos64 Don't see why not.

Can you please ad "groups=('libretro')" (sans quotes) so this shows up when installing the "libretro" group package set?

This may be a silly question, but why does this need to be two packages? Does the HW version not act identically to the software version if you switch the renderer to Software in the RetroArch menu? Basically they're the same, but the HW version has an extra option which can be switched, making the SW-Only version redundant?

@mac1202, @MikuroK I figured out why this wouldn't work with makepkg, if you just run makepkg the build directory doesn't get cleaned when the non-opengl enabled plugin gets built, the resulting hw .so does NOT have opengl enabled. You can just add a make clean before the second call to make in the build() function Also, retroarch now expects .info files to be under /usr/share/libretro/info/*.info I have made these changes to my PKGBUILD file and was able to successfully build each core properly with and without openGL enabled Here is the PKGBUILD I used: https://ptpb.pw/fHxz

Downloaded the pkgbuild & makepkg give the same result, no opengl.

Yes it properly install the /usr/lib/libretro/mednafen_psx_hw_libretro.so file but when I open the core option only software renderer is available. If I compile the core myself opengl renderer is available. Maybe is something wrong with the aur helper I use, pacaur.

Not sure what to say, It's working here. are you sure you're installing the "-hw" package?

mac1202 commented on 2016-08-13 18:05 (UTC)

I had the same problem the pkgbuild doesn't set the HAVE_OPENGL setting to 1.

@gourdcaptain Not sure why it wasn't working for you, I looked over it again and it was definitely picking up the HAVE_OPENGL setting. I've adjusted the sed line so it will keep the same spaces. Didn't make a difference for me, but it's the only thing i could think of.
