chowbok, this is a git based repo package. I update my (git based) packages from time to time only, ie when meaningful, to fix bugs in PKGBUILD etc. In the meantime, when using packages like this, you'll always get the newest sources from upstream. And as long as there're no releases (ie milestones) and therefore no arch/aur packages yet, you're sticked to git.

I don't understand why this package is listed as 734.3812abb-1 but when I build it I end up 556.58b3fed-1.

Can you please ad "groups=('libretro')" (sans quotes) so this shows up when installing the "libretro" group package set?
