This is a personal fork of the VA-API driver, with additional features and fixes, namely working Chromium video decoding support.

Known issues:

  • Ironlake and Sandy Bridge don't behave correctly with ARGB post-processing, causing issues on Chromium.

More details are available here

(p.s. this is my first time doing packages with the AUR, packaging complaints are more than welcome)

if someone is experimenting very high brightness on youtube on chromium based browser, it can be easily fixed by disabling "ambient mode" or "iluminacion cinematica" in spanish in player settings. This happened me on sandy bridge gpu.

a question in general: does the driver provides vaapi support to sandy brige/ivy bridge? because 'libva-intel-driver' does not support vaapi any longer and i looking for a replacement…

Both Arch Linux's and this AUR package support Ivy Bridge and Sandy Bridge (aside from Chromium without a workaround), either your installation is messed up or you are trying to use vainfo on a Wayland compositor without wl_drm support which incorrectly shows the driver not working.
