It's quite strange that I updated it with yaourt which should download fresh source code everytime.

Anyway, the latest update passed.

missing dependency for libdbusmenu-gtk3. Or lightdm-pantheon-greeter failed to boot with following error.

** (lightdm-pantheon-greeter:1161): CRITICAL **: IndicatorManager.vala:162: libdbusmenu-gtk3.so.4: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

alucryd commented on 2016-05-08 12:42

The AUR is not your personal pastebin, and that's what happens when you try to build twice without cleaning beforehand...

I added pantheon unofficial repository /etc/pacman.conf to solve this problem while building:

Error: Package `liblightdm-gobject-1' not found in specified Vala API directories or GObject-Introspection GIR directories

I'm getting this error while building:
Error: Package `liblightdm-gobject-1' not found in specified Vala API directories or GObject-Introspection GIR directories

To have it 100% working, without patches, with onscreen keyboards, indicators, correct theme/icons/fonts, I made a few changes on tarball...
Posted PKGBUILD and .install here:

saronno: No problem here, apart from the usual: launching test-mode messes up my dconf settings up and I have the whole dir, and whan actually launching lightdm, I can't input my password.
Try uninstalling your indicators and see if it helps.

saronno commented on 2013-11-10 16:51

It seem to crash my lightdm ...

Could you give me a little help ?

sh4nks: Packages in my GitHub repo are mostly the same as the one I have in the AUR (unless I'm doing some testing, or just bumped a bzr version), but yeah there won't be a problem if you do that.
Please note that there are some issues between this greeter and 1.7.x versions of lightdm, I'm trying to figure it out, works fine with 1.6 from [community].

sh4nks commented on 2013-09-03 16:52

But there shouldn't be a problem when I build it from your github repo? :)

alucryd commented on 2013-09-03 14:09

Thx, package adopted. The unofficial repo only contains stable packages atm due to a bug in devtools preventing me from building bzr packages. This should be fixed soon though.

sh4nks commented on 2013-09-03 13:58

Okay, you can take it :). I haven't used it for a while. But I'm really interested in your Pantheon repo - I will definitly give it a try :)

alucryd commented on 2013-09-03 08:08

sh4nks: Would you be willing to disown this package so I can take over? I'm working on getting Pantheon work on Arch and have already set up an unofficial repo.
See the wiki page https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Pantheon

This package seems to have more dependencies, when I have unity greeter installed this one works, when I uninstall unity greeter this one stops working...

ivenvd commented on 2013-03-22 18:10

Pls add lightdm as dependency, or it won't build.

sh4nks commented on 2013-03-19 17:47

I'm currently not using LightDM, so I can't help you - sorry :/

Hi,

Yes I have similar problems. Besides of keyboard input does not work also mouse not working. Cursor is moving but that's all, clicking is not working.
Unfortunately I didn't find any solution.

You have to add:
greeter-session=pantheon-greeter
in file /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf
and build lightdm as described in https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Lightdm#Greeter

TanaseButcaru commented on 2013-02-21 16:31

How do I enable this in lightdm?
I have tried with greeter-session=pantheon-greeter and greeter-session=lightdm-pantheon-greeter but it's not working.

sh4nks commented on 2013-01-28 15:19

You can change the background by symlinking a picture of your choice to "/usr/share/backgrounds/pantheon-greeter"

Anonymous comment on 2013-01-24 07:01

I am looking how to configure (change background image, fonts, colors, etc.) pantheon greeter. Any help?

sh4nks commented on 2013-01-21 10:33

ok, didn't know that.

Please remove the dir and link creation from the install file, an install file should _never_ do that. Also, that archlinux-wallpaper is irrelevant, should people want to use one of these wallpapers, they can install it by themselves.
And it should be /usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas...

I'll update the PKGBUILD when I'm back from vacations.
