@notuxius, Does the specification for .desktop files differ from Gnome's in XFCE? If you make one for xfce I'll put it in the repository and add your name :) I don't think the '@' symbol does anything specifically here, it just helps to keep conversations organized.

@crmullins - no desktop file in XFCE.. and how does this '@' signs work here and AUR?)

@notuxius, Good idea. Fixed.

Please add .desktop file into the package. Thank you for your work.

@zerophase, When I start this up in Cinnamon the icon appears in the tray in the lower right-hand corner. If you mean you'd like to have an icon in the tray, so you can click on that to start it -- I don't know how to do that yet. But you can use the following lightscreen.desktop file to make a quick shortcut on your menu. Once that's showing up you can right-click "Add to Panel" and this should achieve what you're looking for. [Desktop Entry] Name=Lightscreen Comment=The easy screenshot tool. Exec=lightscreen Icon=/path/to/lightscreen/src/Lightscreen-2.3/images/LS.ico Categories=Graphics Terminal=false Type=Application Version=2.3

Has anyone had any luck getting this to startup with Cinnamon with an icon in the tray?

@korvinko, Thanks for reminding me. This is done. Everyone: v2.3 is out. I've put together the PKGBUILD hastily, and I haven't really had time to test any of this. Please let me know about any bugs you find, either here or by email, and I'll try to look into them. My hope is that some of the longstanding issues have been addressed in this release. I should have some more time to look into this around the middle of December, so any investigation you can do in the meantime will be much appreciated :) Chris

Hi @Aigle, Thanks for letting me know, and I really apologize for these difficulties. As you can see others have had similar problems. Sometimes using an older version works better, although it's poor form to suggest downgrading and so I hesitate to make that my official recommendation. But it's something to try. Looks like there's a new version of out, so I'll need to update to that soon anyway. In the meantime could you try that out and see if it solves the problem (or introduces new, exciting bugs)? Chris
