I have amd graphics card and propietary drivers. After the release of linux 4.7 I won't be able anymore to update fglrx and I'll use amdgpu opensource drivers. To use lwks I had to install fglrx. Does anyone know if lightworks will work after the upgrade?

***Noob alert*** Lightworks seams to install just fine no errors but when it is launched it hangs on "Loading plugin modules.." If I click on the loading window the program terminates. Has anyone seen this issue? How was it solved? In response to my own comment on 2016-02-22, it seems I had some custom version of libssl and libcrypto installed to try and mitigate the problem. After removing the outdated version, it is now working as expected (with the exception of the broken download link in the pkgbuild)

@anthrit - package download location is broken. Correct link I found is http://downloads.lwks.com/lwks-12.6.0-amd64.deb

Hmm, I still seem to be having problems related to openssl/curl. Upon trying to "log in", the process exits "normally", but this is in my StdErr.log: /usr/lib/lightworks/ntcardvt: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib64/libcurl.so: undefined symbol: SSL_CTX_set_alpn_protos I have curl Version 7.47.1-1 and openssl Version 1.0.2.f-1. Anyone else having this problem?

Previous Maintainer finally gave up the package. I am now the new Maintainer. I am a daily user of this program for my YouTube channel and plan to keep it updated. Hope you all enjoy this well overdue update. I know I will :)

LWKS 12.6.0 is available since 4 feb 2016. Can you update package, please?

marcinn commented on 2015-10-18 10:45 (UTC)

Anthrit, I think that unnecessary shouting will not help ;) I've made a package, based on `lwks` PKBUILD, but with v12.5 and OpenSSL/CURL workarounds to simplify install on ARCH-based systems until LWKS-devs resolve http://dev.lwks.com/issues/397. It uses CURL 7.38 and OpenSSL 1.0.1-l, so may include some security vulnerabilities, but currently there is no other way to run LWKS on systems with OpenSSL >=1.0.2 installed. Please check `lwks-openssl` package (https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/lwks-openssl/).
